Raid at Paombong
The "Raid at Paombong" was organized and executed on August 31, 1897,〔http://www.angelfire.com/journal2/philippinehistory/katipuneros4.htm〕 between the Philippine revolutionaries led by Captain Gregorio del Pilar on a blitzkrieg attack on the Spanish barracks of Cazadores in the municipality of Paombong. The attack was successfully carried out with the capture of 14 Mauser rifles and other supplies.〔http://www.angelfire.com/journal2/philippinehistory/katipuneros4.htm〕 It is often described as one of the famous assaults during Philippine Revolution. Shortly thereafter, Philippine President Emilio Aguinaldo raised Gregorio del Pilar to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
